Henna Crowns

Celebrating Strength. Reclaiming Beauty.
A henna crown is a freehand henna design applied directly onto a shaved scalp — intricate, personal, and as unique as the person wearing it.
The result is stunning: an elegant, ornamental crown that lasts 10 to 14 days and tells a story of resilience.

What is a Henna Crown?
A henna crown is a detailed henna design applied to the scalp, created entirely freehand.
Because every crown is drawn without a stencil or template, I can incorporate symbols, motifs, or elements that hold personal meaning to you — making each one completely one of a kind.

Who is a Henna Crown For?Henna crowns are most commonly offered to cancer patients who have lost their hair during chemotherapy. Losing your hair to treatment is one of the most visually confronting parts of the journey. A henna crown offers something different — beauty, intention, and a moment that is entirely yours.

It is also a wonderful conversation starter — a welcome shift from discussions about medication and treatment, and a reminder that joy can still show up, even in the hardest seasons.
Please consult your doctor before scheduling a henna crown appointment to ensure it is appropriate for your current treatment and skin conditio
How to Prepare For Your Henna Crown?
To make sure your experience is comfortable and your results are beautiful, here is what to keep in mind before we meet:
  • Get your doctor's clearance first. Your health and safety come before anything else, and your physician knows your skin and treatment situation best.
  • Share any sensitivities with me. My paste contains organic henna powder, organic sugar, distilled water, and lavender essential oil. If you have a sensitivity to lavender, no problem — I can substitute tea tree, cajeput, or eucalyptus oil instead. Just let me know when you book.
  • Make sure your head is completely shaved and as close to the skin as possible. This gives the henna the smoothest surface to stain and produces the clearest, most defined design.
  • Consider a photo session. A henna crown is a striking, photogenic piece of art. If you have a photographer friend or family member or caretaker, this is a beautiful opportunity for a portrait session you will cherish.

What to Expect During the Application? The full application takes approximately 2 hours. You will be seated comfortably in a chair throughout — with bathroom breaks, of course.
Your caretaker is welcome to join you.
I recommend bringing a book, a tablet, or queuing up something to watch so the time passes easily.

Once the design is complete, I will apply a light mist of sugar water over the design to help the paste adhere to the scalp and extend wear time.

Caring for Your Henna Crown
Getting the best stain from your crown comes down to patience and a little aftercare:
  • Keep the paste on for as long as possible — ideally 8 hours. The longer it stays, the richer and darker your stain will be.
  • When you are ready to remove it, gently scrape the paste off with your fingers. For any stubborn spots, coconut oil or olive oil will loosen the paste without disturbing the stain underneath.
  • When the paste first comes off, you will see a pumpkin-orange stain on the scalp. This is completely normal. Over the following 48 hours, it will oxidize and deepen into warm shades of brown and burgundy.
  • Avoid washing or scrubbing the area for 24 to 48 hours after removal. This step is essential for achieving a rich, long-lasting result.
